Mysteries Revealed: PARABLES IN THE NIGHT!

DREAMS

There are SO many books on dreams, even visions and no one is “THE” end all because dreams are so varied and so personal. However, the more you learn about a subject asking Holy Spirit to show you…the more you begin to see and understandDay Dreams and Night Visions by Prophetic Teacher Lori Lynn edited how the Father is communicating to and with you, personally.

I encourage people to get all kind of dream books to help them, in fact at throughout this training I will make mention of many different ones I have personally used over the years I found to be enlightening.

One I highly recommend for symbols is Ira Milligan’s “Understanding the Dreams you Dream” it’s always been a “go to” book for me when I began to interpret my dreams.

I also used the training from John Paul Jackson’s training on dreams.

This is not a symbol specific training though I will cover many in this training.

First off; write the dream down…in fact, write the vision, day dream or night vision DOWN and then give it back to the Lord. THIS is a very important thing to do as a prophetic symbol.

What is a prophetic symbol? When we take a revelation of something that is representing a word to us OR do an action symbolizing what we are doing in the supernatural even though we do it in the natural. Example…often I have heard prophetic teachers say “I hear the Lord say step into the new…” so people literally will step forward as an act of symbolically “stepping into” the new.

When you write the dream, vision, day dream, or night vision down then there is an action of remembering it and recognition of WHO it was from …ah, but there is the kicker, who was that dream from?

REGARDING DREAMS…

NOT all dreams are from Heavenly Father. WHAT???

Here are some things you need to know about dreams… dreams are almost always parables when they come from our Heavenly Father however, knowing if they are from Him is very important!

Black and white dreams are just that: a matter that is a black and white issue…from our Heavenly Father.

Color dreams: all kinds of color in them are from our Heavenly Father…color represents life!

Grey, monochrome dreams: NOT from Heavenly Father…why? NO color, no life!

Sometimes dreams can be from what we put in our eye gates as well….but I have found in the years I have dreamed that when it is a message from my Father HE will use things to speak to me that I am familiar with. When it isn’t from Him, and not necessarily from the enemy I won’t recall it.

Some call those “pizza dreams” like having eaten something that made you dream.

When I dream dreams that stick out as I awake I try to reach for paper and pen (my journal…I advise you to keep one near your bed as well if you dream a lot), and write down everything. Now, I tend to dream many dreams in a night sometimes they relate, sometimes they do not but I still write down all I can remember that includes how I “felt” in the dream. THIS is important as well as the colors, places, names, cities etc.

ALL of this is significant beloved and personal to you from Heavenly Father, via Holy Spirit!

Don’t try to analyze it, just write them down. Then when you get up get your bible and dream symbol book of your choosing and begin to pick things apart.

BEFORE I do that, I always ask Holy Spirit to guide me and reveal the mystery of the dream! The deep hidden inner meaning so I may know what Heavenly Father is telling me, or revealing to me.

Write down what you hear, or go to the bible verse you are guided too and write it down too! THESE are like puzzle pieces that later you begin to see how the dots are connected, so to speak. The process of learning to “connect the dots” is how Holy Spirit trains us to “hear” and “see” in the spirit so we recognize the voice of the Lord and how many different ways HE speaks to our hearts in such a personal way.

Hang on…we are going to cover some of the basic symbolic meanings:

Vehicles whether land, sea or air can have varied meanings of ministry, church etc.

Some of the things I have learned about land, sea and air I am going to share with you.

Land can mean those advancing the Kingdom, like “taking the land” so vehicles ON land are a type (by the way, we ALL have a ministry of some sort) of ministry. It can be your home land, region, body of Christ (as an equipper or shepherd), a type of “home-steader” takes the land and protects it and all within that border.

How often did the Lord tell His sent ones to “take the land I give to you”?

Air can mean revelatory type gifting’s advancing the Kingdom whether in intercession, prophetic (they do go hand in hand, just like worship and prophetic should)…prayer, declarations. Those who “see” for themselves, others and the body as a fivefold minister (meaning one called to equip the body of Christ).

Reminded of how the Spirit of God spoke to Isaiah, Ezekiel etc. where they “saw” and many other of the prophetic ones in the bible.

Sea can mean going out as in evangelism, healing type things…often the word “sea” represents people…lots of people. A ship traveling upon the sea may be a large group of people ministering to a very large group of people or to a nation, or a specific area.

All through the word people were sent to speak something or do something for the Lord, in the NT look at Paul and the Apostles and all the ones they trained up, like Stephen.

The size of the vehicle of whatever type is often indication of whether it is personal (close like family or yourself) when its smaller, like a row boat, or single engine plan, or car as opposed to limo or ship, or jet plane.

EVEN THAT all vary.

Example: you dream about fighter jet. Look at that dream…air…and it is a fighter jet…warfare or warrior. Can you see how this is indicative of something?

The next question would be, how does this relate to the rest of the dream?

This is why it is so important to write down as much as you can remember.

What if your “jet” was a fast jet but not a fighter? Then something may be happening “quickly” or you will be used quickly or perhaps what you are shown in the dream is about to take place quickly.

I would encourage those who may be unsure of all this to go and look at Joseph the dreamer in the Bible and his dreams and how they were interpreted and came to pass as well.

Genesis 37:7-9

We [brothers] were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and stood upright, and behold, your sheaves stood round about my sheaf and bowed down! His brothers said to him, Shall you indeed reign over us? Or are you going to have us as your subjects and dominate us? And they hated him all the more for his dreams and for what he said. But Joseph dreamed yet another dream and told it to his brothers [also]. He said, See here, I have dreamed again, and behold, [this time not only] eleven stars [but also] the sun and the moon bowed down and did reverence to me!”

Genesis 43:24-34 the dream was fulfilled, read the story.

Symbols can also be very personal to each individual for example a pair of red shoes may mean a special family member to one person where another would see it as passionately traveling for the Lord in peace because shoes in the book of Ephesians 6:15 talks about shoes of peace. (“15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.”)

If you can, it helps to start with to make note of specific things that are symbolic that seem to show up repetitively in your dreams because that means they significant to you. Learn what they mean in your dreams and most often you will immediately recognize something in a dream when it appears again. EVEN THOUGH they can change in meaning…can be for good or bad, always ask Holy Spirit for discernment on that.

Pay attention to “feelings” in dreams as well. Example: death of a loved one or your own is not usually a “literal” death. Say you dream over and over that the red shoes mean mother because you mom always wore them to church on special occasions. Say you are watching in a dream and someone is wearing red shoes and that person has not been very nice to you but they die and the red shoes are given to you. What is that saying?

This dream could mean that someone who has been an authority figure in your life has either died to self or is leaving (meaning taken out of your life, be it fired at work or transferred or something like that) and the shoes which were special to you meant mom and special could indicate you will step into a special place of mentoring as a mother or in a place of authority, promotion in other words.

It could mean a hundred different things to each person especially if red shoes often appear in their dreams.

On the flip side, it could mean that red was anger and that whoever has been in authority over you has been delivered of anger, perhaps you have prayed for that for them. Can you see how different it can be interpreted?

It is why we must ask Holy Spirit to guide us and HE almost always gives me scriptures with my dreams to confirm or back up what I am sensing to be the meaning. Pay attention to those verses that keep coming up.

Another thing, sometimes in the natural realm prophetic symbols will speak to us and then show up in our dreams or visions as well.

Say someone keeps seeing the number 33 and 3 everywhere. Then one night they dream of a clock that says 33:3 and they have a fun dream that seems to make no sense at first.

They may be led to read Jeremiah 33:3 that says “Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).” They “connect the dots” with Holy Spirit’s help and realize they have been asking the Lord to show them things and HE is answering their prayer! How exciting!

There is more and we will continue on next time! For now, ASK, SEEK and KNOCK…CALL to HIM so You can see the “great and mighty things” HE wants to reveal to you!

  1. My first time reading through this and a few thoughts came to me.

#1 I need to have a dream journal by my bed
#2 Make sure to write down the “feelings” that I experience in my dreams
#3 Be aware of recurring symbols in my “wakeful” and “asleep” states of consciousness.

I plan on reading through this again once I have taken some time to reflect on my own dreams and write some things down.

    Thanks Lori:)
