WAKE UP!

seeing our own heartsWAKE UP!!

14 Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light.”

To “wake up” means to take a look at yourself! Like we look at ourselves in a mirror.

Examine your own heart (mind=thoughts & beliefs, will=what you choose and choices you have made, emotions= your reactions, responses and behavior including words you speak).

In the original meaning of this text the word “awake” means literally get up, stand up from lying down in disease or sleep or death. Rise means STAND UP! Reminds me of how often Jesus said to the sick, GET UP! Because HIS Light brought a revelation that changed their stinking thinking and they acted upon what HE said..HIS “daily/fresh” bread! Daily bread…IS fresh revelation! FRESH WORD! Remember we LIVE by every WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of GOD? Jesus said that to the enemy….it is the “way” we live too because JESUS said in the prayer He taught us “give us our daily bread”…and HE likened Himself to “bread”. Ponder all of that as I move on with this message.

Many are “asleep” in the that they don’t even recognize the distance they have created between them and God the Father by the way they view and judge others. Jesus actually warned of this when HE said “do not judge or you will be judged for the same way you judge others, you yourself will be judged.”

How on earth does this tie in with everything…I Corinthians 11:27-32 gives us a glimpse of understanding.

27 So then whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in a way that is unworthy [of Him] will be guilty of [profaning and sinning against] the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But a person must [prayerfully] examine himself [and his relationship to Christ], and only when he has done so should he eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks [without solemn reverence and heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifice of Christ], eats and drinks a judgment on himself if he does not recognize the body [of Christ]. 30 That [careless and unworthy participation] is the reason why many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep [in death]. 31 But if we evaluated and judged ourselves honestly [recognizing our shortcomings and correcting our behavior], we would not be judged. 32 But when we [fall short and] are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined [by undergoing His correction] so that we will not be condemned [to eternal punishment] along with the world.”

The Fact this is brought out is so important because there are so many “sick” and “diseased” in the body of Christ. NOT all fall into this category either, but there are many…HE said it… the word “many” the Greek word “poloos” means a large amount.

For this causeG1223 G5124 manyG4183 are weakG772 andG2532 sicklyG732 amongG1722 you,G5213 andG2532 manyG2425 sleep.G2837 “

Weak means…asthenace which translates -strengthless. The root of that word is the Alpha in Hebrew Aleph meaning first and a the two words that make up asthenace means a union stregthened by God. Essentially a union or relationship with GOD! Or in this case a LACK of union with God! Remember, in His presence…where we find joy and the joy of the Lord is our? Strength! So strengthened in relationship is the essence of that word.

Same as with word “sickly” which refers to a lack of a union with God being strengthened in health. Whereas we are to be strengthened by our union in God in our health….healed!

Reviewing those pertinent verses again:

29 For anyone who eats and drinks [without solemn reverence and heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifice of Christ], eats and drinks a judgment on himself if he does not recognize the body [of Christ]. 30 That [careless and unworthy participation] is the reason why many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep [in death]. 31 But if we evaluated and judged ourselves honestly [recognizing our shortcomings and correcting our behavior], we would not be judged.”

So the matter at hand is examining and judging/evaluating our OWN hearts by recognizing our shortcomings and correcting our behavior and words I might add for out of the heart…the mouth speaks!

HOW often have we taken communion in Jesus name but maybe cavalierly not really judging our hearts…how often do leaders just “breeze” through the ritual of that sacred memorial to Jesus? Yes…it is a memorial to HIM and we just plow through to “get on with the service” etc. GOD forbid people stay over or miss their lunch or whatever the case may be. It is true and it may offend some but then TRUTH often does offend.

Apparently many take this rather lightly even if they in their “words” pay monument to Him, are we taking time in our own hearts?

When we approach GOD our Father in a memorial of thanksgiving of what JESUS has done by taking communion of the NEW Covenant…and in our hearts are judging other over something…we have NOT evaluated our own lives nor examined our own hearts (minds, wills and emotions).

Truly beloved, to “not judging the body rightly” mentioned in this passage means NOT judging the body! Our judgment in order to be correct or right is to see each other through the eyes of Christ Jesus…with love and compassion. Love covers a multitude of sins remember?

HE covered ours!

Otherwise we bring our own judgment upon our own heads!

I truly believe Holy Spirit is wanting to teach us all how to truly walk in love and holiness…being set apart by LOVE. Meaning…we do NOT look like the world because we choose not to tolerate darkness but to love people and pray for those who curse us, even bless them! Trust me, when you love and bless them it is as heaping coals of fire upon them and if they are seeking God, Who He is, it will be as the passionate fire of God. Otherwise it will be like burning coals that they will flee from. Yet, that cannot be the intent in our hearts if we truly examine them we will certainly see we all …yes ALL…lack love in many area regarding many people! Ones we don’t know and ones we do!

Repentance is a “right now” word and it is time we do it and stop talking about it!

To be in divine health is to walk in a heart that is repentant and changed by the LOVE of God! So when we take communion as a memorial to JESUS and all HE has done and does…we WON’T be bringing judgment upon ourselves but being repentant and truly thankful for JESUS and HIS BODY and HIS BLOOD for not only us…but ALL mankind!

THIS beloved is where we are right now…so how many will actually examine their own hearts and forgive others and ask forgiveness of GOD and others where it is necessary?

Blessings and love upon each one of you precious ones!
